Glenn Thibeault is the NDP Member of Parliament for Sudbury. He serves as the New Democrat Critic for Consumer Affairs and chair of the NDP Northern Ontario Caucus.
During the 40th Parliament, Glenn gained recognition across the country for his work on credit card interest rates and for raising the issue of sports concussions in Ottawa. In addition to this work related to his critic areas, Glenn also introduced Private Members’ Bills which would create an Emergency Service Appreciation Day and provide support to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
Glenn has continued this work into the new Parliament, and also now sits on the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee. He was also named as the Chair of the Legislative Committee which will studied Bill C-11, Canada`s updated copyright legislation.
Glenn is the former Executive Director of United Way Sudbury Centraide, and previously worked as a broadcast journalist in Sudbury. He was also a manager of Residential Programs for children and adults with Disabilities in Vancouver BC.
Glenn is dedicated to building and improving the city of Sudbury. In 2006 he was honoured with a 40 Under 40 Award for his community work.
